The type of delivery is decided along with our vet. If it's cesarean, everything is left him. If it's natural childbirth it is done in our home, which has a room specially built for this purpose: The delivery room. The delivery room is an atmosphere which is heated, it has two large windows overlooking the garden, to give excellent ventilation, and direct access to a bathroom, a fenced gallery outside and to our room. |
In the delivery room we also have electronic balance (to the daily developments of the pups), a shelf with all the items we use daily (identifying tapes, sheets, thermometer, medication, etc.). and with proper lighting. Currently we are in the process of installing a video camera that will allow to see what happens in the delivery room, just as the monitoring of other areas of the house and kennel. |
The gallery outside fenced to allow or not allow the passage to the garden, which is extremely useful in case of rain or in the first exit to the outside of the puppies. Once your Health Plan allows it, the perimeter fence of the gallery is opened releasing the pups to a controlled area of the garden.
